Don't be fooled by the "OC" (Oceanic) suffix on this rugged Baitrunner. Although designed atorigine for sea bait fishing, it also makes an excellent freshwater reel for catfish, pike and carp. With its attractive price and build quality, you can't go wrong with this model. The attractive combination of black body and silver spool is unobtrusive and will suit most situations where a disengageable reel is required.
Built in XT-7 composite from Shimano, this reel is lighter than it looks and features A-RB sealed bearings, which resist saltwater corrosion, so you can be sure they'll be perfect for freshwater fishing. The AR-C spool, with its unique angled lip, works in conjunction with Varispeed, Shimano's variable oscillation system, which provides excellent line winding with nylon and braid. All model sizes have a 4.8:1 ratio, which provides great retrieve speed and the powerful front drag will cope with anything you might hook in freshwater or in the sea.
