Discover the hiking shoes Salewa, combining comfort and performance to tackle any trail with confidence.
SALEWA was founded on July 8, 1935 by Josef Liebhart at Munich. During the Second World War, the company manufactured divers leather and textile products, tubular steel-framed backpacks and hazelwood ski poles. With the strong demand for durant ski poles in the winter of 1952/53, Salewa made its breakthrough into the sports sector. In 1955, Salewa designed the Andean backpack and supported Hermann Huber's expedition to the Andes, who would later become the Managing Director of Salewa. In the 1960s, the development and production of Salewa 's classic, fully adjustable crampon set new standards and became one of the company's most successful products to date.
