In simple terms, the Egg Not is a squash-tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. With the growing popularity of mid-length boards, we thought it was more or less obvious to offer a mid-length squash-tail board. The squash-tail provides a bit more surface area, extends the rail line, and has a more turning feel compared to a roundtail. The Egg Not is a great board to have in your quiver. When the surf is medium, you can catch the wave nicely and glide through sections, but the board is still loose enough to turn easily. And when the swell picks up a bit more, it still performs surprisingly well! The Egg Not features a moderate rocker at the front of the board, which promotes paddling speed, wave catching, and overall glide. Its turning ability is slightly above average, which helps tighten the radius of your turns without losing speed. The thickness of the board is a bit on the thin side for a board of this size. Thinner rails help the board sink into the water and also aid in better hold in bigger waves. The fin setup is up to you. For better glide sensations, we recommend a quad setup with 4 fins. If you’re looking for more cruising or traditional vibes, go for a 2 plus 1 setup.

Torq Epoxy Composite offers performance shapes in our ultra-modern epoxy layup. These boards provide the best balance between lightness and durability. Thanks to our unique laminating process, we are able to use a very strong 6oz and 4oz fiberglass layer in a three-layer deck and a two-layer coating (with a four-layer rail overlap) with high-density EPS foam, all while achieving a board weight equivalent to a lightweight fiberglass layup.
The result is a light but very stable board with good flex properties and, like all torq boards, excellent value for money.
