Mountaineering boots K4 GTX

K4 is the technical boot for high-altitude climbing, perfect for tackling terrain and ice at altitudes of up to 4000 m, characterized by particularly harsh conditions. Thanks to its complete compatibility with crampons, it is ideal for crossing glaciers and for ice climbing. The K4 GTX is extremely durable, equipped with thermal technologies and the most innovative components from the Kayland range.

UPPER
A new striking graphic accompanies the high-tech nature of this shoe. The fully renewed design with a new pattern mirrors the style of other models in the range, ensuring undeniable stylistic continuity with the new logo and the clear pictogram on both sides. The fascia encircling the boot and the toe box are made from Diamond Technology on the outside. This exclusive polyurethane component offers an unprecedented level of abrasion resistance and a larger surface area for better protection. The inner surface of the boot has also been enhanced by adding rubber to ensure better protection of the foot and the shoe against wear from using crampons. LINING
A Gore-Tex® Duratherm lining, one of the most thermally insulating linings in the Gore range, has been added inside. The lining is perfect for protecting the feet even in the coldest temperatures, maintaining waterproofness and breathability while increasing the comfort level inside the shoe.

SOLE
An enhanced arch support ensures better braking of the shoe during descents and better grip on rocks. The Vibram® Teton sole has a specific design for climbing and ice climbing: the full zones on the toes and heel provide better grip and increase safety, while the sticky compound maintains a high level of grip in all conditions and on all surfaces.

MIDSOLE AND INSOLE
The outer sole block in polyurethane also showcases the institutional colours with a bicolour design. The rear heel for crampon insertion is fixed and bonded into the midsole for a safer, more stable hold. The insole is made from fiberglass with an aluminum sheet to ensure maximum stiffness, especially when used with crampons. The midsole features exclusive technology, thanks to the Smart PU component, a polyurethane compound that reacts to temperature changes: it hardens in the heel area in colder weather and softens in milder weather to facilitate cushioning while walking.

LACING SYSTEM
The K4 GTX features a new lacing system with maximum adjustment based on the intended use. The tongue has an overlapping closure, with a unique gusset to ensure total foot hold. Additionally, there are 3 levels of closure: a lace puller, which allows for tightening the laces and keeping the fit anatomically consistent, an intermediate level with the lace closure, and finally at the top, the Velcro and microfiber strap. The outer protective gaiters in polyamide have a waterproof closure system with a thermos welded zipper.
